Programme Digital Thread from Requirement to Test Evidence

A defence programme's requirements live in one tool, the design in another, the test plans in a third and the results in reports. Proving that a requirement has been verified means a person walking that chain by hand before every milestone review.

The challenge

What stands in the way

A defence programme's requirements live in one tool, the design in another, the test plans in a third and the results in reports. Proving that a requirement has been verified means a person walking that chain by hand before every milestone review.
The solution

How Scrydon solves it

An ontology of requirements, design elements, tests and evidence connects the tools already in use, so verification status is a query over the graph and the gaps are visible continuously rather than at the review.
In practice

How this plays out

Traceability is the heart of a defence programme's evidence and the thing every tool promises and none delivers across the boundary to the next tool. Requirements management, model-based systems engineering, test management and document control each hold part of the thread, and the joins are kept in spreadsheets.

The platform does not replace those tools; it models what they hold in one ontology, requirement, function, design element, interface, test case, test run, evidence, and links the records across systems. Verification status is then a query: which requirements at this baseline have no passed test, which tests are affected if this interface changes, which evidence is missing for the customer's acceptance review. Agents can draft the compliance matrix and the review pack from the graph, and a systems engineer checks it.

Programme data is classified and export controlled by default. The model runs on the contractor's own infrastructure, applies the same markings the source systems carry, and gives the customer's review team a view scoped to what they are entitled to see.

The result
  • Milestone reviews prepared from a live model, every requirement traceable to its evidence, and change impact known the day a requirement moves.
